November: Arthur B Toast Festival of student directed One-Act plays
- Matinees for KCSS students and two evening performances
- 16 to 21+ one-act plays, mostly contemporary plays chosen and directed by students and often written by students
- Actors from grades 9 – 12
- 80-100 students involved
- Auditions in September
- Students who want to learn how to act on stage can get involved in their grade 9 year and learn the ropes.
- Students who wish to direct are involved in all aspects of their play’s production.
May: School Play
- Two evening performances
- Matinees for grade 7 & 8 students and KCSS students
- Double casts mean more students are involved
- Most actors are from grades 10 – 12 so they have experience with Toast before being involved with the play - a longer commitment, but some grade 9s are involved
- 35 to 55 students involved
- Casting is done from auditions in September and Toast
Stage Crew:
- Sign up in September or drop by room 14 to say you are interested
- anyone can get involved by just signing up
- We have a stage crew training day to teach you what you need to know
- learning and running tech – lighting and sound; learning and running stage set up and set changes; prop creation and management and much more

We need people for other jobs during the year near to performance dates. Just drop in to room 14 to sign up
